After mustard splits add hing, curry leaves, and then add chopped onion pieces and also tomato cut finely. Fry a bit and add water to cook it. After onions are cooked, add dal, salt, haldi, sambhar powder, and tamarind. Adjust water for consistency. Add seasoning. When mustard splatters, add hing and remove from heat. Separately, heat oil in a pan and add cut tomatoes. Then add haldi and salt. Cook for 5 mins by covering it. Let it cool. Add seasoning, tamarind, coriander leaves, and salt. Add seasoning. When Mustard seeds start to splatter, add hing. Let the seasoning cool down. Then to the seasoning, add raw ginger, tamarind, jaggery, salt, haldi and a little water.
